The Deutsches Museum of Masterpieces of Science and Technology, Deutsches Museum for short, is one of the largest science and technology museums in the world by exhibition area. It aims to bring scientific and technical knowledge to life for lay people and uses selected examples from history to do so.
The main building stands on Museum Island in the Isar. It was built to plans by Gabriel von Seidl, opened in 1925 and was among the first large buildings made of reinforced concrete: the building itself was meant to show what technology can do.

The museum has four branches, one of which is right by us: the Flugwerft Schleissheim. If you visit the Flugwerft first, you get an insight into aviation. The main building in the city centre complements this with its broad range, from shipping to aerospace.
