Oberschleißheim, a quiet place with history

Oberschleißheim lies in the district of Munich, roughly halfway between the city centre and the airport. Palaces, airfield and park make the village a destination in its own right.

The churches are worth a look too: the Catholic parishes of Maria Patrona Bavariae and St. Wilhelm and the Protestant Trinitatiskirche.

A world-famous children's book began here too: the writer Waldemar Bonsels moved to Oberschleißheim in 1911 and wrote "Die Biene Maja und ihre Abenteuer" (in English "The Adventures of Maya the Bee") there, published in 1912. During your stay with us, you may like to read the little bee's story again between two walks in the park.
