Olympic water on the doorstep

For the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich a competition course for rowers and canoeists was built in Oberschleißheim. The facility lies on the edge of the village, in the middle of the countryside, and is still used for sport today.

Visitors see an unusually long, straight stretch of water built for racing. It is good for a quiet walk or as the destination of a bike ride.

How to get there from us

All routes begin at our hotel in Oberschleißheim. 15 min by e-bike.

  2. By car

If you come by car, parking at our hotel is free. For the regatta course the bike is the better choice, as the way there leads through the countryside.

As a bike trip

The regatta course suits a tour on our bicycles well and can be combined with a walk in the palace park. Cycling is not allowed in the park itself. For cyclists the routes around Oberschleißheim are pleasant anyway: nice walking and cycle paths run right past our hotel.

Our tip

Hire an e-bike and combine the regatta course with the palace park.

We hire out bicycles, with and without electric assistance, and pack a lunch for you on request.
