Nymphenburg Palace
The summer residence of the Wittelsbachs lies about 12 km south-west of us as the crow flies.
Book a roomA palace that grew
Nymphenburg Palace began as a country house and grew over two centuries into a monumental three-wing complex. The architects Enrico Zuccalli and Joseph Effner extended it in the Baroque and Rococo styles. Together with the circular forecourt on the east side, the park to the west, four pavilion palaces and numerous canals it forms a unique ensemble.
Nymphenburg is one of the largest palaces in Germany and one of the most important in Europe.

Tram 17 stops right at the palace, at the Schloss Nymphenburg stop. The MVV timetable shows the exact connection from Oberschleißheim.
By car
Park with us for free. Parking near the palace is limited, so the train is easier.
The park and its canals
The palace has an extensive park with canals running through it. The four pavilions in the park are small pleasure palaces in which the court relaxed. If you like being outdoors, you can spend a whole afternoon here.
Our tip
Combine Nymphenburg with Schleissheim: both were among the residences of the Wittelsbachs.
On our day cycle tour you see both palace complexes on the same day.
